Job summary

Lumicity, an emerging robotics startup, is seeking a Senior Robotics Engineer with deep Motion Planning expertise to help develop autonomous platforms from the ground up.

You’ll own hands-on development across motion planning, controls, multi-axis robots, and real-world deployment, collaborating with hardware and software teams. Proficiency in C++/Python, ROS/ROS 2, MoveIt, and trajectory optimization is required; this role is five days onsite in Boston, MA.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with motion planning algorithms (RRT, PRM, CHOMP, STOMP, TrajOpt).
• Production experience with ROS/ROS 2 and MoveIt.
• Strong C++ and/or Python skills.
• Experience in multi-axis robots / multi-dimensional planning.
• Experience deploying robotics systems in real-world environments.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end development of motion planning and controls.
• Work with hardware and software teams to deploy autonomous platforms.
• Iterate on trajectory optimization for real-world environments.

I’m working with an emerging robotics start up, building next-generation autonomous systems to transform a major real-world industry.

They’re looking for a Senior Robotics Engineer with deep Motion Planning expertise to help develop and deploy advanced robotic platforms from the ground up.

5 days onsite in Boston, MA

You’ll work across:

• Motion planning & controls
• Multi-axis robotic systems
• Collision avoidance & trajectory optimization
• C++ / Python robotics software
• Hardware-software integration & real-world deployment

This is a hands-on role where you’ll have direct ownership, work closely with hardware and software teams, and solve genuinely challenging robotics problems outside of the lab.

Experience needed:

• Strong experience with motion planning algorithms (RRT, PRM, CHOMP, STOMP, TrajOpt)
• Production experience with ROS/ROS 2 and MoveIt
• Strong C++ and/or Python skills
