Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Senior Motion Designer to join our Creative team in Chicago. You will own concepting, designing, animating, and delivering high-impact motion for brand, campaigns, social content, and events, while shaping scalable motion systems and AI-enabled workflows.

The role requires 5–7+ years of motion design experience, a strong portfolio, and the ability to translate strategy into compelling motion experiences that are on-brand and accessible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in film, video production, motion design, animation, or equivalent.
• 5-7+ years of motion design, animation, and video experience.
• Advanced proficiency with modern motion tools and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Create Motion Graphics, Animation & Visual Effects across brand, campaign, social, digital, executive, and event channels.
• Translate briefs into polished motion experiences with clarity, craft, and brand consistency.
• Develop reusable motion systems, templates, and assets to enable scalable production.
• Collaborate with creative, strategy, marketing, and production teams from concept through delivery.
• Ensure accessibility, governance, and brand alignment in all motion outputs.
