Job summary

OpenAI in San Francisco is seeking an experienced Motion Designer for the B2B creative team to craft motion that makes complex AI technology understandable and compelling for business leaders and developers.

This is a hands-on, craft-focused role that collaborates with designers, writers, producers, product marketers and cross-functional partners to deliver motion that aligns with product launches, customer storytelling, events and brand standards while advancing business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in motion design with a strong brand, campaign, or B2B marketing portfolio.
• Ability to translate complex products or ideas into accessible visual narratives.
• Proficiency with industry-standard motion design and animation tools.
• Strong storytelling, timing, composition, typography, and visual systems fundamentals.
• Experience creating motion across B2B marketing and communications touchpoints.
• Excellent collaboration and clear communication across creative and business disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Design and produce motion assets for B2B marketing and communications across campaigns, launches, stories, events, and presentations.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, engaging motion for business audiences and enterprise buyers.
• Develop visual narratives connecting technology to customer needs and business outcomes.
• Collaborate with brand, product marketing, sales, and communications throughout the process from concept to delivery.
• Contribute to and apply motion design principles and systems across channels and touchpoints.
• Develop storyboards, motion studies, and prototypes to explore ideas and guide direction.
