Job summary

OpenAI’s Business Marketing team is seeking a senior Motion Designer to craft motion work that makes complex AI technology understandable and compelling for business and technical audiences. You will work hands-on to deliver assets across campaigns, launches, customer stories, events, and brand experiences with a focus on craft and execution.

The role is based in San Francisco with a hybrid model (3 days in the office per week) and relocation assistance for new hires.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in motion design with a portfolio demonstrating brand, campaigns or B2B work.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong fundamentals in storytelling, timing, composition, typography, and visual systems.
• Experience translating complex products or ideas into clear motion for business audiences.
• Experience creating motion across B2B marketing touchpoints.
• Ability to collaborate across creative and business disciplines and communicate design decisions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design and produce motion assets for B2B marketing, product launches, events, and campaigns.
• Translate technical concepts into clear, engaging motion for enterprise audiences.
• Develop visual narratives linking OpenAI’s technology to customer needs and outcomes.
• Collaborate with brand, product marketing, sales, and communications throughout the creative process.
• Apply OpenAI motion design principles and systems across channels.
• Create storyboards, motion studies, and prototypes to communicate direction.
• Execute high-quality animations with strong attention to detail and pacing.
• Adapt work for multiple audiences and formats while maintaining brand standards.
• Partner with producers to scope work, manage timelines, and meet deadlines.
• Participate in reviews and incorporate feedback.
