Job summary

MotionAi, Buffalo-based leader in automation, seeks a Senior Engineering Technician to design electrical control panels, program and troubleshoot OEM systems, and mentor junior staff. You will manage projects, define requirements, and provide technical support throughout sales and implementation phases.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of related experience, strong engineering/math skills, and ability to work across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 7+ years of related experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work across cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects.
• Solid engineering and math skills to formulate ideas and create design concepts.
• Intermediate proficiency with engineering symbols, standards, and documentation.
• Attention to detail with strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Haz-Loc design experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control panels and program/troubleshoot OEM equipment and automation solutions.
• Manage engineering projects, set timelines, coordinate with customers and staff.
• Provide technical writing and explanations of component integration into machinery.
• Develop power distribution layouts and wiring diagrams/schematics.
• Train plant personnel on usage and maintenance of equipment and control systems.
• Create Bills of Materials and specify manufacturer part numbers.
• Perform fieldwork, start-up tasks, and engineering calculations.
