Job summary

Baker Tilly US is seeking a Quality Control Manager for its Mortgage Risk Services team. The role focuses on FNMA, FHLMC, FHA/VA, and USDA quality control, pre- and post-closing reviews, and risk reduction across the organization and client environments.

The successful candidate will oversee QC staff, ensure compliance with state and federal lending regulations, and continuously improve audit processes while maintaining client service excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5 years Mortgage Credit Underwriting or Post-Closing QC auditor experience.
• 5 years' Management experience.
• Self-motivation, detail orientation and organizational skills.
• Proficient PC skills in MS Office.
• Ability to develop spreadsheets and other departmentally required documents utilizing MS Excel/Word.
• Ability to work on cross-functional teams.
• High attention to detail.
• Strong technical skills with the ability to analyze and troubleshoot issues.
• Strong analytical skills required with a high degree of accuracy.
• Solid communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented and possess organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and train quality control staff and oversee QC functions.
• Develop and administer auditor training and scorecards.
• Oversee pre-funding and post-closing QC and due diligence.
• Recommend operational improvements based on findings.
• Monitor regulatory changes and keep staff informed.
• Ensure confidentiality and high accuracy in loan reviews.
• Provide SME input to internal/external staff on underwriting and compliance.
