Qualifications

• Five+ years Mortgage Lending experience in a financial institution or loan office setting.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business or Finance or three years equivalent work experience.
• Solid knowledge of banking industry practices, policies, regulations, and laws related to mortgage lending.
• Proficiency in bank compliance and Fair Lending regulations; data entry and spreadsheet skills.

Responsibilities

• Travel to solicit first mortgage and home equity loans via referrals and community activities.
• Meet with customers at various locations and complete loan applications with required documents.
• Explain underwriting guidelines and applicable regulations to clients and partners.
• Assess loan requests against bank policies and available loan types.
• Propose and review loan options; stay updated on new legislation affecting lending policies.
• Communicate approvals or denials clearly to borrowers and partners; distribute market data.
