Civista Bank is seeking a Senior Mortgage Lender to originate first mortgage loans and promote the bank's lending services to the real estate community. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of mortgage lending experience, a business/finance degree or equivalent, and strong communication and analytical skills to support community partnerships and CRA

Qualifications

• Five+ years mortgage lending experience in a financial institution or loan office.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business or Finance or three years equivalent work experience.
• Strong knowledge of banking industry practices, policies, regulations and laws in mortgage lending.
• Compliant with fair lending laws and bank policies; data accuracy and confidentiality.
• Proficiency with Word/Excel and ability to learn position-specific software.
• Strong initiative, thoroughness, accuracy and organization.

Responsibilities

• Travel to solicit first mortgage and home equity loans through referral partners.
• Meet with customers and prospective customers at various locations.
• Process loan applications and collect required documentation per policy.
• Explain underwriting guidelines and government regulations to clients.
• Screen loan requests according to bank policies and loan types.
• Propose and review loan options with clients.
• Monitor legislative changes affecting residential lending and advise management.
• Communicate complex approvals or denials to borrowers, agents, or builders.
• Distribute market data and loan information to the real estate community.
• Promote bank's special credit and CRA programs and participate in community activities.
• Manage multiple priorities and deadlines with client-focused service.
