Job summary

First American Bank is seeking a Senior Mortgage Loan Officer in Bloomingdale, IL. You will originate residential mortgage loans, interview applicants, and guide them from application to closing, while expanding the customer base through referrals and partnerships.

You will mentor Mortgage Loan Officers, develop strong real estate professional relationships, and travel frequently to meet clients and grow market presence. Strong regulatory knowledge and CRM/LOS proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of mortgage loan origination experience with ability to develop referral relationships and manage a residential mortgage pipeline.
• Minimum of three years mentoring, coaching, or developing Mortgage Loan Officers or lending professionals.
• Advanced knowledge of residential mortgage products, pricing, underwriting guidelines, and the loan process from application to closing.
• Understanding of federal and state mortgage lending regulations (TILA, RESPA, HMDA, ECOA, Fair Lending).
• Ability to mentor others, manage multiple priorities, and work independently with a high-volume pipeline.
• Excellent communication skills with borrowers, real estate professionals, attorneys, and internal partners.

Responsibilities

• Originates residential mortgage loans by interviewing applicants and submitting complete packages for approval.
• Consults with customers to assess finances and identify suitable lending solutions.
• Recommend mortgage products and guide applicants through the process to closing.
• Maintain and expand a book of business through referrals and partnerships.
• Develop and execute a business development strategy to acquire new customers and achieve sales goals.
• Collaborate with internal partners and represent the bank at events and community activities.
