Job summary

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, Inc. seeks a Molecular Technologist III to support the MCCRP at Walter Reed Bethesda.

This on-site role requires expertise in molecular biology, NGS, and ASCP certifications, with U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a DoD-supported clearance. You will lead complex testing workflows, ensure CAP/CLIP alignment, and mentor staff while contributing to data reporting and publications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in biological science or similar fields.
• Experience with molecular testing including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR and NGS.
• Ability to work on-site in Bethesda with adherence to CAP/CLIP standards.
• Sufficient communication and analytical skills; U.S. Citizenship may be required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and conduct molecular testing focusing on DNA/RNA extraction, PCR and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) assays.
• Monitor quality assurance metrics throughout the pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical phases to detect trends affecting test accuracy.
• Design laboratory operations to CAP and CLIP standards and implement new discoveries per the Medical Director.
• Provide training and guidance to faculty, students and house-staff; develop assessment tools and curricula as needed.
• Review reports and liaise with agencies to stay current on developments; advise on procedures and manuals.
