Job summary

Monod Bio is seeking a Sr. Research Associate / Associate Scientist in Molecular Biology to support the Discovery Team in protein design and optimization.

You will perform DNA assembly, mutagenesis, and high-throughput expression screening, contributing to lead identification while maintaining rigorous documentation. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in biology/biochemistry or related fields and 2+ years of hands-on molecular biology experience, including PCR, cloning and plasmid prep, with

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, biophysics, analytical chemistry, biology, biotechnology, chemical engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of molecular biology experience (DNA work, PCR, cloning, plasmid purification).
  • Experience with staining panel development, flow cytometry, and sorting in yeast.
  • Extensive experience tracking data in electronic notebooks (e.g., Benchling).
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong communication and independent work skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform molecular biology and protein manufacturing tasks independently.
  • Design mutagenesis experiments to create diverse DNA libraries.
  • Create staining panels for FACS screening of yeast display libraries.
  • Assist in planning and troubleshooting under senior scientists.
  • Perform PCR, Golden Gate cloning, plasmid preps, and DNA purification.
