Job summary

ClinLab Solutions Group in Middlesex County, Massachusetts seeks a Sr. Associate Scientist, Discovery & Screening to work hands-on in molecular biology and biochemistry, supporting discovery platform advancement using phage and mRNA display technologies.

You will contribute to experimental design and cross-team collaboration in a fast-paced environment. The role involves designing display libraries, running screening campaigns, optimizing workflows, and preparing samples for sequencing to guide

Qualifications

BS or MS in molecular biology, biochemistry, chemical biology, bioengineering, or related field.
2–4 years of lab experience with BS, or 1–2 years with MS.
Proficiency in PCR, cloning, DNA handling, and library construction.
Experience with electronic laboratory notebooks is a plus.
Hands-on with display technologies (phage, yeast, ribosome, or mRNA) preferred but not required.
Able to work on-site and collaborate across teams; strong communication.

Responsibilities

Design and generate diverse phage and mRNA display libraries using PCR, cloning, and in vitro transcription/translation.
Conduct screening campaigns of display libraries against complex protein targets to discover novel binders.
Optimize selection workflows, including amplification, enrichment, and characterization of screening hits.
Prepare samples for next-generation sequencing and assist with data analysis to guide project direction.
Collaborate with scientists and cross-functional teams for planning, troubleshooting, and data interpretation.
Document experiments, protocols, and results with accuracy and thoroughness.
Operate and maintain laboratory automation systems, such as liquid handlers and plate readers, to enable high-throughput workflows.
Engage in continuous improvement of laboratory processes and contribute to the advancement of discovery projects.
