Job Title: Sr. Associate Scientist, Discovery & Screening

Summary:
Seeking a hands-on bench researcher with expertise in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related fields to support discovery platform advancement using phage and mRNA display technologies. The role involves experimental work, collaboration across scientific teams, and application of next-generation discovery methods for therapeutic development.
Responsibilities:
- Design and generate diverse phage and mRNA display libraries utilizing molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cloning, and in vitro transcription/translation.
- Conduct screening campaigns of display libraries against complex protein targets to discover novel molecular binders.
- Optimize selection workflows, including amplification, enrichment, and characterization of screening hits.
- Prepare samples for next-generation sequencing and assist with data analysis to guide project direction.
- Collaborate with scientists and cross-functional teams for experimental planning, troubleshooting, and data interpretation.
- Document experiments, protocols, and results with accuracy and thoroughness.
- Operate and maintain laboratory automation systems, such as liquid handlers and plate readers, to enable high-throughput workflows.
- Engage in continuous improvement of laboratory processes and contribute to the advancement of discovery projects.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Bioengineering, or related field.
- 2–4 years of relevant laboratory experience with a B.S. degree, or 1–2 years with an M.S. degree (academic or industry background accepted).
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, including PCR, cloning, DNA handling, and library construction.
- Ability to execute experiments, troubleshoot, interpret results, and maintain detailed records; experience with electronic laboratory notebooks is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, collaborative approach, initiative, and scientific curiosity.
- Experience with laboratory automation preferred; familiarity with next-generation sequencing workflows is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with display technologies (phage, yeast, ribosome, or mRNA display) preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI tools effectively in daily work; advanced or innovative use of AI is a strong plus.
- Ability to work on-site and participate in in-person meetings.
