Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Animal Industry, is seeking a Biological Scientist III to perform molecular testing (PCR and qPCR) on aquatic specimens in a BSL2/BSL3 environment. The role includes assay development, data entry in LIMS, and cross-training staff.

Requirements include a relevant bachelor’s degree with experience or higher degrees, plus valid driver’s license.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years related experience, or Master’s with 1 year, or Doctorate in relevant sciences.
• Educational verification required for US degrees; foreign degrees may require credential evaluation.

Responsabilidades

• Assist supervisors to ensure procedures and processes comply with policies.
• Perform molecular testing (PCR, qPCR) and troubleshoot specimens.
• Data entry in LIMS and discuss results with Section Head before release.
• Develop and revise diagnostic assays in the Aquatic Diagnostic Section.
• Maintain QA/QC records and ensure compliance during audits.
