Job summary

Molex is seeking a Senior Mold Project & Predictive Engineer in the United States (Harrisburg area) to advance NPD and development of injection molded components. You will optimize designs, lead tooling and process development, and support global teams across CSBU.

You will apply MIM and plastic part design knowledge, use NX and Moldex/Moldflow, and collaborate with vendors and manufacturing plants to ensure robust processes and products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering or Plastics Engineering Technology.
• 5 years of experience in large manufacturing or molding.
• Knowledge of MIM part design, plastic part design, tooling and 2D/3D CAD.
• Analytical skills to apply reasoning, test assumptions and correct as needed.
• Willingness to interact with global plants and attend odd-hour meetings.

Responsibilities

• Support CSBU tooling groups during design, debug, qualification and production phases.
• Review mold designs and perform DFM work using NX.
• Debug and develop processes for conventional, insert molded, wire overmolded and MIM components.
• Communicate concerns through DFMs and improve stamping technology and processes.
• Utilize Moldex, Moldflow and NX for predictive engineering simulations.
• Develop external resources to support new product development.
• Contribute to TQM, Six Sigma, ISO and EH&S management systems following policies.
• Lead molding projects specifications and development including automation lines.
