Job summary

Molex is seeking a Mold Project & Predictive Engineer to advance plastic and MIM components from design through production. You will work with CAD tooling teams, support design reviews, and apply predictive molding simulations to optimize processes.

You will collaborate with the Copper Solutions Business Unit, reporting to the Components Manager, and engage with global vendors and plants to ensure robust manufacturing capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Plastics Engineering or Plastics Engineering Technology is required.
• Experience in the plastics or metal injection molding industry is required.
• Analytical skills to apply logical reasoning, test assumptions, observe results, and make corrections.
• Willingness to interact with global plants, including attending evening and early morning meetings.
• Ability to travel to manufacturing plants and suppliers in Asia and Mexico to support assigned projects.

Responsibilities

• Support CSBU tooling groups during design, debug, qualification, and production phases.
• Review mold designs and perform DFM work using NX software.
• Debug and develop processes for conventional, insert molded, wire overmolded, and MIM components.
• Communicate concerns through DFMs and improve stamping technology and processes.
• Utilize Predictive Engineering molding simulation (Moldex and Moldflow) and NX software.
• Develop external resources to support new product development.
• Contribute to and support TQM, Six Sigma, ISO, and EH&S Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.
• Lead molding projects specification and development, including for automation lines with integrated molding.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
