Job summary

Protolabs in Rosemount, MN seeks a Senior Mold Process Technician for an onsite role. You will lead mold setup, optimize injection molding processes, and mentor junior technicians to improve part quality, cycle times, and machine uptime.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, collaboration with engineering, and driving continuous improvement across molding operations. A strong background in decoupled molding and resins is required.

Qualifications

• 4 year technical degree or 8+ years equivalent experience in plastic injection molding at an Engineering level.
• 8+ years of experience as an Injection Mold Technician or Mold Process Technician.
• Strong understanding of Mold Design and Molding technology; RJG/Paulsen training a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and startup of molds using decoupled/scientific molding practices.
• Troubleshoot mold cycling and mold function to maintain uptime and quality.
• Collaborate with engineering to improve parts, tooling and processes.
• Mentor junior technicians and train set up staff on best practices.
• Record cycle times and process specs accurately on cycle sheets.
