Job summary

QED Systems, LLC seeks a Modernization Architect Engineer to join our team at APG, MD, supporting PM IS&A. You will design enterprise architectures, lead modernization initiatives, and ensure security integration across the lifecycle.

The role requires DoDAF EA expertise, Agile/CI/CD experience, and a track record modernizing legacy software. You will collaborate with PMOs, developers, and leadership to deliver sustainable, secure software solutions in a DoD context.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Extensive experience in software systems architecture and modern development methodologies (Agile, CI/CD).
• Proven track record guiding legacy software through modernization and capability sourcing.
• Deep understanding of systems engineering from planning to deployment and sustainment.
• Strong leadership to manage technical teams and oversee architecture CM.
• Experience with complex software systems, requirements decomposition, and testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain enterprise architecture and processes.
• Lead modernization via Agile and DevSecOps across the lifecycle.
• Define long-term software sustainment roadmaps.
• Embed security controls across the development lifecycle.
• Translate constraints into IT requirements for PMOs and teams.
• Guide legacy systems through modernization and sourcing.
• Oversee architecture configuration management and team leadership.
• Collaborate on DoD system engineering processes.
