Job summary

QED Systems, LLC is seeking a Modernization Architect Engineer to lead the transformation of Army Intelligence software systems at APG, MD. The role bridges legacy and modern development, guiding systems engineering and architecture to securely scale across the enterprise.

The candidate will drive continuous iterative development, oversee architecture, and collaborate across PMOs and teams to deliver modernization roadmaps and secure solutions.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with strong technical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Extensive experience in software systems architecture and enterprise architecture (DoDAF).
• Proven track record guiding legacy systems through modernization.
• Understanding of systems engineering processes from planning to sustainment.
• Leadership to manage technical teams and oversee architecture configuration management.
• Direct experience with DoD system engineering processes and intelligence software systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain business, systems, and IT architectures aligning with mission requirements.
• Lead transition to Agile/DevSecOps and modern software factory practices.
• Plan long-term roadmaps for software sustainment and modernization.
• Collaborate with security teams to embed security controls across lifecycle.
• Translate complex constraints into clear IT requirements for PMOs and leadership.
