Job summary

Lam Research in Oregon is seeking a Modeling Engineer 3 to advance semiconductor capital equipment through advanced simulation for liquid-based processing. You’ll lead multiphysics modeling efforts, collaborate with global teams, and drive design decisions using quantitative validation and DOE experiments.

Your work will span CFD, FEA, and electrochemical modeling, with ownership from problem definition to design implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical or related engineering field.
• PhD without experience is acceptable; otherwise equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with major simulation tools (ANSYS, COMSOL).
• Strong hydrodynamics and structural mechanics understanding.

Responsibilities

• Build Multiphysics models (CFD, FEA, electrochemical) for reactor systems.
• Collaborate with global teams (US, Europe, Asia) to solve multi-physics problems.
• Simulate process conditions to inform design decisions.
• Develop DOE studies and lab validation with quantitative metrics.
• Own end-to-end computational modeling projects and reporting.
• Perform FEA (thermo-mechanical, fatigue, non-linear) analyses.
• Generate technical reports and present findings to stakeholders.
• Contribute to IP through modeling and simulation work.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field

PhD with no experience (acceptable)
