Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Mobilization Tech – Senior at Rochester General Hospital. This role collaborates with nurses, physical and occupational therapists to identify high-priority patients needing ambulation and mobility assistance.

The Senior Mobilization Tech verifies activity orders, supports the care team, and helps organize the unit for efficient patient mobilization. The position entails 40 hours per week with days/evenings and rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting with mobility and patient transfers.
• Ability to work with Nurses, PTs, and OTs.
• Strong safety and patient handling awareness.

Responsibilities

• Transfer patients using trained techniques and safe equipment.
• Mobilize identified patients with ambulation and positioning.
• Aid patients in therapeutic regimens.
• Assist patients with self-care as adjunct to mobility.
• Assist the interdisciplinary team in training medical and nursing personnel in mobility techniques.
• Document as directed within the Care Connect EMR.
• Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team regarding patient response to mobility plan.
• Reinforce education to patient and family regarding mobilization.
• Understand normal vital sign parameters.
• Maintain inventory, storage, and cleanliness of equipment and unit area.
• Assist other staff with patient transfers, toileting, and equipment retrieval/adjustments.
• Provide support to Patient Care Techs for scheduling and deployment of mobilization.
