Job summary

Gravity IT Resources is seeking a Software Development Manager for Mobile Technologies in Miami, FL, a hybrid role leading a team building large-scale React Native apps for a 3M+ user base.

You will own the mobile platform's technical direction, shape a modular Superapp-style architecture, and drive end-to-end delivery from app structure to store releases. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership and architectural excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years software engineering experience, including production mobile apps.
• 2+ years leading or managing software development teams while remaining technically engaged.
• Deep experience with React Native, React, and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience architecting large or multi-team mobile applications using modular architecture and monorepos.
• Strong experience with Expo and the modern Expo ecosystem (Expo SDK and EAS services).
• Understanding of React Native New Architecture concepts (Fabric, TurboModules, JSI/Codegen).
• Experience designing safe mobile release strategies across App Store / Google Play.
• Strong understanding of mobile CI/CD, automated testing, code signing, environment management, release automation, and production support.
• Experience with mobile observability and performance tooling.
• Strong understanding of client/server architecture and APIs (REST/GraphQL).
• Strong communication skills to articulate architecture decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction and architecture of React Native applications across iOS and Android, balancing product velocity, performance, reliability, and long-term maintainability
• Design and evolve a modular, Superapp-style mobile architecture with clear feature boundaries and reusable services
• Lead adoption of modern React Native and Expo practices, including New Architecture concepts and native escape hatches
• Define and operate a safe over-the-air update strategy with Expo Updates / EAS Update
• Own mobile build and release engineering, including CI/CD tooling and app store releases
• Act as a hands-on technical leader: participate in design, review PRs, prototype high-leverage work
• Drive mobile performance and quality through measurable engineering practices
• Establish strong observability and operational practices for mobile
• Create architecture standards and guardrails for navigation, state management, offline behavior, and testing
• Partner with backend/platform teams to design mobile-friendly APIs and service contracts
• Coach and mentor engineers; clear technical feedback and career growth paths
• Continuously improve team execution by reducing build friction and improving automation
