Job summary

Boats Group is seeking a Software Development Manager for Mobile Technologies in Miami to lead the React Native mobile apps, including BoatTrader and YachtWorld. You will shape architecture, drive delivery, and ensure maintainability while mentoring engineers and collaborating with product and design.

The role combines hands‑on coding with strategic leadership, guiding a modular, scalable mobile platform and modern CI/CD practices in a hybrid work model headquartered in Miami.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering, with production mobile apps.
• 2+ years leading or managing software development teams.
• Experience architecting large or multi‑team mobile apps using modular architecture / superapp patterns.
• Strong experience with Expo and the Expo ecosystem (SDK, EAS).
• Understanding of React Native New Architecture and related concepts (Fabric, TurboModules, JSI).
• Strong mobile CI/CD, testing, signing, environment management and release automation.
• Experience with mobile observability, crash reporting and performance tooling.
• Strong API knowledge (REST/GraphQL), authentication and caching.
• Excellent communication capable of aligning engineers, product partners and tech leaders.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the technical direction of the mobile applications.
• Architect modular/mobile platform with shared services and components.
• Lead the use of React Native and Expo across lifecycle and releases.
• Define safe over‑the‑air update strategy and release channels.
• Own mobile build, CI/CD tooling, signing and store releases.
• Be a hands‑on leader reviewing PRs and helping solve critical issues.
• Improve performance, reliability and developer experience.
• Establish guardrails for navigation, state management and data access.
• Collaborate with backend/product/design for cohesive experiences across products.
• Mentor engineers and drive growth paths.
