Job summary

Rula is a remote-first company hiring a Senior Mobile Engineer to own end-to-end delivery of features for patient-facing mobile apps on iOS and Android using React Native. You will collaborate with Product, Design, and backend engineers to deliver intuitive experiences and evolve our mobile architecture.

You will mentor teammates, improve quality via testing and performance optimizations, and help scale the mobile platform while embracing AI-assisted development tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years building production mobile applications.
• 3+ years of experience with React Native, TypeScript, and modern React development.
• Experience shipping mobile features end-to-end, from design through release and monitoring.
• Working knowledge of native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) and Android (Kotlin/Java).
• Experience owning projects from design through delivery, with the ability to make tradeoffs and communicate rationale.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with teammates and cross-functional partners, surfacing risks early and contributing to clear scope/estimates.
• Proven ability to mentor and support junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
• Fluent with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, etc.) and able to articulate both where they accelerate delivery and where they introduce risk or require human judgment.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end delivery of features across iOS and Android using React Native.
• Partner with Product, Design, and backend engineers to create intuitive, reliable experiences.
• Evolve mobile architecture and improve engineering quality through testing and performance optimizations.
• Mentor teammates and contribute to the long-term success of the mobile platform.
• Surface risks early and contribute to scope/estimates for mobile work.
