Evlo AI in Washington, DC is seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer to build and maintain native iOS and Android apps. You will own features from spec through release and work with product, design, and backend engineers to ship on a weekly cadence.

The role emphasizes architecture ownership, performance optimization, robust reliability, and collaboration on a shared design system, with mentoring of mid-level engineers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience building and shipping native mobile applications on iOS, Android, or both.
• Fluency in Swift and/or Kotlin with hands-on SwiftUI or Jetpack Compose.
• Experience integrating REST and/or GraphQL APIs, managing authentication, and handling background work and push notifications.
• Track record of shipping apps through the App Store and/or Play Store, including release management and phased rollouts.
• Proficiency with CI/CD for mobile (e.g., Fastlane, Bitrise, GitHub Actions) and automated testing at unit and UI levels.
• Solid grounding in mobile architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, clean architecture) and dependency management.
• Bonus: Kotlin Multiplatform or React Native experience; accessibility expertise; or apps with 1M+ installs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship production features in Swift/SwiftUI (iOS) and Kotlin/Jetpack Compose (Android), owning them from spec through release.
• Architect and evolve shared mobile infrastructure: networking layers, local caching, offline support, and modular feature architecture.
• Drive app performance and reliability work - startup time, jank reduction, memory profiling, and crash-free rate targets above 99.5%.
• Instrument features with analytics and monitoring (e.g., Firebase, Datadog RUM) and use data to prioritize fixes and improvements.
• Participate in weekly release trains, manage App Store / Play Store submissions, and own rollback and hotfix procedures.
• Collaborate with designers to implement polished, accessible UI and contribute to a shared design system.
• Mentor mid-level engineers through code reviews, pairing, and mobile guild discussions.
