Evlo AI; San Francisco (CA); On-site; USD 120,000 - 180,000; Full time

Job summary

Evlo AI is seeking a mobile engineer to own user-facing iOS and Android features for a consumer-scale product. You will ship native apps with a focus on performance, offline-first behavior, and reliability, collaborating with design, backend, and QA.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of mobile engineering experience shipping consumer apps to the App Store and/or Google Play.
• Deep fluency in Swift and/or Kotlin with modern UI frameworks.
• Experience integrating REST/GraphQL APIs, auth, caching, and offline sync in mobile clients.
• Track record of owning releases: App Store/Play Store submission processes, feature flags, staged rollouts, and crash-rate management.
• Strong debugging and profiling skills across concurrency, memory management, and networking.
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Bonus: Kotlin Multiplatform, React Native, or Flutter; mobile CI/CD infra ownership; open-source contributions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship production features in Swift/Kotlin across iOS and Android.
• Own features end-to-end: scoping, API contracts with backend teams, implementation, testing, rollout, and post-launch monitoring.
• Optimize app performance — startup time, render performance, memory footprint, and battery usage — using profilers and APM tooling.
• Build and maintain modular, testable architecture with strong unit and UI test coverage.
• Instrument analytics and crash reporting and drive down crash rates and ANRs to best-in-class levels.
• Participate in code reviews, feature RFCs, and weekly release trains; contribute to shared mobile platform tooling and CI/CD.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and help set mobile engineering standards across the team.
