Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking an Automation Engineer for an 18-month contract on a hybrid schedule, based in Culver City, CA or Cupertino, CA. The role is 40 hours per week, with work located on-site in California.

You will lead end-to-end test automation efforts, building frameworks in Python, developing iOS test automation, and collaborating with front-end and back-end teams to ensure data integrity and smooth CI/CD workflows.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software development with 5 years in test automation.
• Expertise in Python for writing test automation scripts.
• Expertise in iOS automation.
• Experience designing and creating test automation frameworks and tools with focus on End-to-End and on-device testing.
• Experience with testing activities across full lifecycle of the project.
• Front-End Development: React.
• Back-End Development: Python, APIs, PostgreSQL databases.
• DevOps and Maintenance: CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins; monitor performance.

Responsibilities

• As a member of the UAT Team, independently execute and track testing for mobile systems.
• Develop test strategy, plan, cases, and scripts to ensure broad test coverage.
• Perform testing of on-device experiences for a wide range of mobile apps.
• Write automated tests for iOS platforms using Python and Swift.
• Prioritize feature testing and ensure on-time delivery of end-to-end testing.
• Provide test scope, results, and tickets for resolution.
• Communicate status with Test Metrics and Coverage reports.
