Job summary

Sesame is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our mobile QA team. You will own iOS and Android test automation within our CI/CD pipeline, delivering reliable nightly and release validations to keep our fast release cadence in sync with product goals.

You’ll partner with app engineers to shift checks toward unit/integration tests and build robust harnesses, dashboards, and observability to surface real quality signals across platforms.

Qualifications

• 7–8 years in software QA / test engineering.
• 4+ years building mobile test automation for iOS and/or Android.
• Hands-on with at least one mobile framework (XCUITest/XCTest, Espresso, Appium, Maestro, Detox).
• Strong scripting/programming; can build harnesses and small tools.
• Has integrated tests into CI/CD or a release pipeline.
• Can debug a flaky failure and derive useful fixes.
• Understands release risk and prioritization of tests.

Responsibilities

• Build and own the iOS and Android test automation that runs in our CI.
• Deliver a real quality signal on nightly, weekly, and release builds, and keep iOS and Android parity.
• Automate onboarding, chats, payments, notifications, and settings to reflect real user flows.
• Document failures clearly so engineers can reproduce quickly.
• Help triage bugs and separate app, backend, OS, device, and test-harness issues.
• Improve robustness with isolation, stable test data, checks, and retries.
• Keep dashboards and release notes in sync so the team sees risk before shipping.
• Collaborate with app engineers to push checks into unit or integration tests.
