Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment seeks a Senior Software Quality Engineer (Contract) to own end-to-end testing for iOS mobile apps. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of iOS QA, hands-on Appium/Pytest experience, and strong collaboration skills in an agile setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software quality engineering, with strong hands-on testing of iOS mobile apps.
• Experience creating test plans, identifying test scenarios, and executing manual/automated tests.
• Hands-on experience with mobile automation frameworks such as Appium and familiarity with Python-based automation.
• Understanding of the iOS release lifecycle, including TestFlight, builds, versioning, and release validation.
• Experience testing on iOS simulators, devices, and cloud platforms like Sauce Labs or BrowserStack.
• Familiarity with automation frameworks such as Pytest, WebdriverIO, or Playwright; ability to review tests and troubleshoot.
• Basic programming or scripting (Python preferred; Java/JS/C# a plus) to support automation frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across distributed teams.
• Ability to quickly learn new tech and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end testing activities for iOS mobile applications including functional, integration, and regression tests.
• Review requirements, UX flows, and designs to identify test scenarios and build test plans.
• Perform manual and automated testing using iOS simulators, devices, and cloud platforms like Sauce Labs or BrowserStack.
• Collaborate with engineers and SDETs to increase automation coverage and test effectiveness.
• Execute and validate automated test suites, investigate failures, and support debugging of automation issues.
• Analyze logs, reproduce reported issues, verify fixes, and assist root cause analysis.
• Create clear defect reports with steps, logs, and screenshots.
• Validate mobile app interactions with backend services via API/integration tests, including mocked services.
• Support CI/CD release validation by running automated/manual tests in pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Work with cross-functional teams in an agile environment to ship quality releases.
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and mobile automation trends.
