Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an mmWave IC Design Engineer to lead the development of RF/mmWave front‑end chips for space‑grade communications. You will design highly integrated front‑end blocks and enable low-noise performance across programs.

You will translate system requirements into chip specs, run EM simulations, supervise integration, and coordinate with third‑party partners. Onsite work at San Diego, Cupertino, or Renton with travel.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
7+ years of mmWave/RFIC design experience in SiGe, CMOS, or SOI.
Strong experience with amplifier, mixer, switch, and synthesizer topologies at mmWave.
Proven TX/RX front-ends modeling and time-sampled waveform simulations.
Hands-on mmWave IC characterization and debugging experience.
Experience with analog blocks: op-amps, bias generators, LDOs, sensors, ADC/DAC.
EM simulations proficiency for on-chip and package components.
Top-level integration experience including ESD, mixed-signal verification, DFM.
U.S. citizen or permanent resident or lawful status to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

Design RF/mmWave front-end chipsets: PAs, LNAs, phase shifters, VGAs, mixers, synthesizers.
Partner with RF system engineers to run feasibility studies and architect TX/RX front-ends.
Design and simulate on-chip EM structures; co-optimize IC/package interfaces.
Supervise front-end integration and optimization through development lifecycle.
Collaborate with third-party design partners.
