Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced RFIC/ASIC designer to join the TeraWave team. The role focuses on designing RFICs and mixed-signal ASICs for space-based communications, with emphasis on analog verification, layout, and integration, using Cadence Virtuoso and related tools.

Applicants should have 10+ years in mmWave IC design, with a strong CMOS/SOI background and a track record in high-frequency amplifier analysis and testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field plus relevant industry experience.
• 10+ years of mmWave silicon IC analysis, design and implementation.
• Strong background in bipolar and CMOS technologies, EM theory and IC packaging.
• Experience with Cadence Virtuoso and analog design environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop RFICs and mixed-signal ASICs for space systems.
• Implement designs using Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre RF and similar tools.
• Develop analog models for verification and validation of ASICs.
• Create and execute test plans pre and post silicon.
• Analyze noise, linearity, power, and impairment tradeoffs in designs.
• Collaborate with systems, firmware, architecture, and product engineering teams.
• Support lab integration, debugging and troubleshooting activities.
• Address layout and timing challenges; optimize interfaces and congestion.
• Apply AI-based methodologies across the design cycle from design to manufacturing.
