Job summary

Upstart is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Machine Learning and Simulations Platform to build an end-to-end MLOps stack—model inference, automation, deployment, and observability. You will help create a marketplace simulation platform to accelerate ML and finance collaboration.

The role combines backend engineering with ML-focused tooling, working closely with ML, Engineering, Product, and Data teams to scale production features while maintaining high reliability in a remote-friendly

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, backend services and APIs.
• Experience with distributed systems or large-scale data processing.
• Experience with ML platform or ML production path (training pipelines, model serving).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Next-gen ML and simulation platform for scale and reliability.
• Develop self-service tooling for ML teams to register features and deploy models.
• Deliver data and feature infrastructure, including storage, serving, and parity.
• Design simulation systems to reflect production environments and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with ML, Engineering, Product, and Data Engineering teams.
