Job summary

People Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer 1 to join our AI/ML Engineering Platform team. You will design and build scalable backend systems and ML pipelines, collaborating with product owners, data science, and platform teams to deliver ML-driven features.

You will own data pipelines, model serving, and observability, applying modern search and recommendation techniques while staying current with ML infrastructure and MLOps best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience building scalable backend systems.
• 5+ years with Python, Node.js, and TypeScript.
• Experience with Elasticsearch, Kafka, and REST/GraphQL APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and Docker/Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend systems and ML pipelines.
• Develop data pipelines for feature generation and analytics.
• Implement model serving with KServe and FastAPI.
• Improve observability and monitoring for models and pipelines.
• Collaborate with data scientists and product teams on ML-driven features.
