Ideal candidates have 5+ years in software engineering with deep experience in information retrieval, ranking, and platform reliability, plus Python programming proficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant depth in search or data-intensive systems.
• 3+ years of experience in information retrieval concepts, query understanding, relevancy and ranking.
• Experience mentoring engineers and raising technical standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced search solutions using OpenSearch/Elasticsearch/Solr.
• Fine-tune search relevance with ML techniques and ranking models.
• Explore Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and LLMs to enhance search capabilities.
• Analyze search data to inform optimization strategies.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions.
• Develop analytical models and predictive techniques for search problems.
• Write Python to explore large volumes of search data.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
