Spring Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to enhance the Alma search and matching experience. You will design and evolve backend services and APIs, mentor engineers, and drive end-to-end projects in a hybrid role based in San Francisco, with 2–3 days in the office.

You’ll leverage Python, Django, and React to build scalable systems, apply AI thoughtfully, and collaborate across teams to deliver high-quality care discovery experiences for clients and providers.

Qualifications

• 6–8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proven track record leading delivery of complex multi-team projects.
• Experience designing and scaling full-stack systems with backend emphasis.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable software across complex problem areas within Alma search & matching.
• Lead group technical design sessions for large projects and participate in reviews.
• Integrate AI into the team workflow with quality standards and tooling.
• Evaluate new AI tools and techniques and establish engineering standards for AI usage.
• Decompose complex engineering problems into actionable, well-scoped solutions.
• Coordinate cross-group efforts and communicate progress to stakeholders.
