Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a backend-focused Senior Software Engineer to design and build scalable microservices on a cloud-native platform hosted on Google Cloud. You will contribute to APIs, data pipelines, and AI-enabled features, collaborating with architects and product teams to deliver robust systems.

The role requires strong hands-on experience across Java/Python/Kotlin/Go, cloud platforms, and observability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• 4+ years of software engineering lifecycle experience (design, development, testing, deployment).
• 3+ years building cloud-native applications (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• 4+ years of backend and API development in one or more languages (Java, Python, Kotlin, Go).
• 2+ years designing microservices with API design and event-driven patterns.
• Experience with Elastic/OpenSearch/Solr/Lucene for search.
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Docker and Kubernetes experience; observability with Splunk for production support.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable microservices architectures and APIs.
• Develop and maintain backend services for real-time and batch processing.
• Collaborate with architects and senior engineers on cloud-native strategies.
• Build data pipelines and enable AI-driven capabilities like search and recommendations.
• Ensure monitoring, logging, and reliability using modern tools.
