CVS Health is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer for Search Machine Learning to lead high-impact search capabilities enabling millions of members to discover providers and care options.

You will guide teams on advanced search algorithms, ML-driven relevance tuning, and integration of cutting-edge techniques like RAG and LLMs, collaborating cross-functionally to deliver measurable improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with depth in search or data-intensive systems.
• 3+ years in information retrieval concepts (inverted indexes, scoring models, relevance tuning).
• Proven execution from design to production support and mentoring others.
• Experience with AI-driven coding tools such as Claude Code and Copilot.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced search solutions using Elastic/OpenSearch.
• Fine-tune search relevance with machine learning techniques.
• Explore integration of Agentic Solutions, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and LLMs.
• Analyze search data, user behavior and performance metrics to drive optimization.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers and stakeholders to deliver impactful results.
• Develop and evaluate analytical models to address search-related problems.
• Leverage Python to examine and interpret large search data volumes.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
