Job summary

Sift is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the ML platform team responsible for training, evaluating, and serving ML models in production. You will partner with Data Science, Core Infra, Product, and Customer Success to drive impactful platform capabilities and customer value.

You will mentor engineers, shape the roadmap, and guide architectural trade-offs while ensuring delivery of robust, scalable ML systems in production.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience with 4+ years in people leadership.
• Experience mentoring Data Scientists or ML engineers.
• Deep fluency in ML systems: training, feature engineering, serving, evaluation.
• Proven track record with technical customer engagements or POVs.
• Successful reduction of technical debt in large-scale systems.
• Experience designing or scaling ML evaluation frameworks.
• Ability to automate repeatable engineering processes.
• Hiring, mentoring and developing engineering talent with graduates

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the ML platform team; own roadmap, execution, and quality.
• Stay technical; review designs and guide architecture trade-offs.
• Drive customer POVs; collaborate with Sales on value engagements.
• Reduce technical debt; balance new features with system health.
• Build evaluation frameworks for model quality pre/post deployment.
• Automate ML lifecycle; streamline training, deployment, monitoring.
• Partner cross-functionally with Data Science, Infra, Product, and Success.
