Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Platform Engineer to build the foundations for feature engineering, model training, and model serving across Coinbase.

You will shape how ML scales within a remote-first company that values high performance and bold thinking. You will own streaming pipelines, distributed training, and highly available inference services, partnering with ML engineers as a platform builder.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with distributed systems in production.
• Built ML infrastructure like streaming pipelines or model serving.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading reviews.
• Familiarity with ML platform components such as feature stores, model serving, and training orchestration.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight and measurable impact.

Responsibilities

• Own design and reliability of ML inference infrastructure serving models and LLMs.
• Build and optimize low-latency streaming pipelines for fresh feature data.
• Drive improvements to distributed training infrastructure.
• Develop observability tooling to monitor data quality entering models.
• Mentor junior engineers to raise engineering standards.
