Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior ML Platform Engineer to build the foundational infrastructure powering feature engineering, model training, and model serving across Coinbase. You will impact fraud detection, user personalization, and blockchain analysis at scale.

You will own streaming, distributed training, and inference services, while mentoring engineers and partnering with ML teams to raise engineering standards and deliver production-grade systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience as a software engineer with distributed systems ownership.
• Built and operated low-latency data or ML infrastructure processing data at scale.
• Experience mentoring engineers and improving engineering quality.
• Familiarity with ML platform components to partner with ML engineers as a platform builder.
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive workflow improvements.

Responsibilities

• Own design and reliability of ML inference infra with high availability and low latency.
• Build low-latency streaming pipelines delivering fresh feature data to production models.
• Improve distributed training infra enabling efficient processing of large data volumes.
• Develop observability tooling to monitor data quality entering models.
• Mentor junior engineers to raise production-grade engineering standards.
