Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Platform Engineer to shape the foundations of our ML infrastructure. You will own systems for feature engineering, training, and inference across fraud detection, personalization, and blockchain analytics.

You will influence streaming, distributed training, and highly available inference services at scale. You will mentor junior engineers, improve production-grade software, and collaborate with ML teams to deliver reliable, cost-efficient

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer with ownership of distributed systems in production.
• Experience building/operating low-latency ML infra (streaming pipelines, online serving, or distributed training).
• Proven track record mentoring engineers and improving code/design quality.
• Familiarity with ML platform components (feature stores, model serving, training orchestration).
• Commitment to responsible AI with human oversight to improve workflows, cost, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Own design and reliability of ML inference infrastructure, ensuring high availability and low latency.
• Build and optimize low-latency streaming pipelines for fresh feature data.
• Advance distributed training infrastructure for large-scale ML workloads.
• Develop observability tooling for data quality and model performance monitoring.
• Mentor engineers to raise engineering standards and production quality.
