Job summary

People Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer 1 to join the AI/ML Engineering Platform team in a hybrid role across NYC, Des Moines, LA, Seattle or Chicago with up to two remote days per week.

You will design scalable distributed systems, build ML pipelines, and deliver ML-driven features, while collaborating with data scientists and product teams to improve search, retrieval and personalization experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years backend and ML engineering experience.
• Proficient in Python, Node.js and TypeScript with API design skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend systems and ML pipelines.
• Develop data pipelines for feature generation and model training.
• Implement model serving with KServe and FastAPI APIs.
• Maintain observability, performance and data quality across pipelines.
