Job summary

Spring Health is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer in San Francisco to build and scale a centralized AI platform supporting GenAI capabilities across the organization. The role emphasizes collaboration with AI/ML teams, on-call readiness, and refining platform standards.

You will drive adoption of GenAI features, improve platform reliability, and mentor engineers while working in a hybrid setup with 2–3 days in the SF office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of Python development experience with GenAI and ML libraries.
• Experience maintaining and configuring engineering tools in a Kubernetes stack.
• Experience driving the adoption of generalized platforms with a focus on Developer Experience (DX).
• Ability to architect solutions for projects and mentor engineers in an enterprise environment.
• Strong communication to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to build and scale the AI platform, tooling, and best practices for rapid GenAI deployment.
• Monitor uptime of AI/ML tools to ensure high availability of platform features.
• Prioritize backlog to drive internal adoption of the centralized AI platform.
• Participate in on-call rotations and host internal office hours to support the team.
• Lead refactoring initiatives to enforce centralized coding standards across services.
• Partner with ML teams to modernize MLOps practices.
• Drive cross-team collaboration to accelerate adoption of AI/ML platform offerings.
• Troubleshoot cloud (AWS/Azure) and Kubernetes infrastructure issues.
