Job summary

Klaviyo is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Platform Engineer to build core ML and AI platforms and tools. You will drive initiatives for training, deploying models, and scaling systems at data and traffic scale. This is a backend-heavy, hands-on IC role based in Boston.

You will collaborate with product, ML, data science, and infra teams to deliver durable platforms that accelerate AI development across Klaviyo, with a focus on reliability and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer, ML platform engineer, or similar, building backend or distributed systems.
• Proven track record designing and launching AI/ML systems in production at scale.
• Strong proficiency in Python (or similar backend languages: Go/Java/Scala).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and platform fundamentals (AWS, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Design seamless workflows for continuous model training, inference, and monitoring.
• Lead technical execution, code/design reviews, and high‑impact implementation for core system paths.
• Mentor engineers, promoting engineering excellence and best practices.
• Shape architectural direction for ML Platform components and feature storage.
