Spotify is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to design and scale generative music AI features. You will build and refine ML training and inference pipelines, apply prompt engineering across large language models, and collaborate with data scientists and music experts to bootstrap data and improve model quality.

The role emphasizes production ML systems, cloud infrastructure, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver new listening experiences for artists and fans.

Qualifications

• Production ML experience in real deployments.
• Hands-on work with LLMs, prompt engineering, evaluation systems.
• Experience shipping ML features in production using Python/Java/Scala.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, evaluate, and improve ML training and inference pipelines powering new AI music experiences.
• Apply ML and prompt engineering across complex pipelines for rich user experiences with large language models.
• Create evaluation frameworks, including LLM-as-judge pipelines, for fast feedback and iteration.
• Partner with music subject-matter experts for training data bootstrapping and taxonomy design.
• Build scalable systems balancing experimentation velocity with production rigor at scale.
• Collaborate with Data Science teams to connect evaluation signals with real-world usage.
• Contribute to technical direction and engineering best practices across deployment and observability.
• Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, design, and music industry partners.
