Job summary

Spotify is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer in the United States to shape the ML strategy for Discovery Mode and royalty programs. You will lead production ML systems, guide architectural decisions, and collaborate across engineering, data science, research, and product teams to deliver scalable ML solutions that connect artists with fans.

You will mentor teams, drive experimentation, and help grow the broader engineering community with strong practices and reliable software.

Qualifications

• Deep experience with ML algorithms and experimentation.
• Hands-on production ML systems design and delivery.
• Ability to set technical direction for complex ML problems.
• Experience leading technically complex ML projects.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive ML engineering strategy for Discovery Mode and royalty programs.
• Design, build, evaluate, ship, and refine production ML systems.
• Provide technical leadership across ML initiatives and architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with researchers, design, data science, product, and engineering teams.
• Prototype new approaches and convert successful ideas into scalable solutions.
• Drive experimentation, testing, and tooling to improve ML system quality.
• Partner with teams across Spotify to explore new approaches to promotion.
• Mentor and share knowledge to grow engineering practices.
