Job summary

Symbotic seeks a Senior ML Engineer to productionize ML systems and enhance robot health monitoring. You will build scalable deployment pipelines and work with ML researchers to bring new models into production robot environments.

The role requires strong ML fundamentals and hands-on software engineering, including ONNX/TensorRT, Docker, and edge computing. Expect collaboration across software, CV, hardware teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience.
• Strong Python development skills.
• Experience building ML models from scratch.
• Experience with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow.
• Experience with predictive modeling and time-series analysis.
• Deployment and operationalization of ML models.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Git, Jenkins, and CI/CD.
• Experience with SQL and large-scale data systems.
• Experience with telemetry, sensors, or operational data.
• Experience building monitoring/observability dashboards.
• Cloud experience with Azure and/or GCP.
• Collaborative cross-functional teamwork.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Robotics/SE/ML.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve ML deployment infrastructure for large-scale robotic fleets.
• Partner with ML researchers to transition models from experimentation to production.
• Design predictive health monitoring for autonomous robotic assets.
• Create automated monitoring, telemetry dashboards, and KPI reporting.
• Develop data pipelines for dataset curation, labeling, training, validation, and evaluation.
• Deploy and optimize ML models using ONNX, TensorRT, Docker, and edge computing platforms.
• Improve model rollout, validation, and fleet-wide deployment processes.
• Develop simulation and validation environments to accelerate testing and releases.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, CV, and operations teams to improve robot reliability.
• Support CV applications including detection, classification, dimension estimation, and robotic decision-making.
• Contribute hands-on Python development and ML model architecture design.
