Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to advance ML vision for autonomous robots. You will build state-of-the-art perception models, deploy on-bot and cloud components, and collaborate with hardware, kernel, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure robust real-time processing across the fleet.

The role requires a Master’s degree and 6+ years in software engineering, with expertise in Python and C++, plus Docker/Kubernetes for portable deployments.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related discipline (CS/EE/Math) is required.
• Minimum 6 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience developing ML models and vision systems for robotics.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain on-bot vision solutions using Python, C++, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Build on-bot and cloud infrastructure for binocular and 3D vision.
• Design dashboards and metrics to monitor vision systems.
• Understand sensor packages and collaborate with hardware/kernel teams for data correctness.
• Work with QA and DevOps to deploy solutions across the robot fleet.
