Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer III to join the Advertising Technology team in the Bay Area or Seattle, focusing on large-scale ML systems for pricing, inventory optimization, ranking, and trust & safety across the ad platform.

You will translate modeling ideas into reliable, observable ML systems, mentor others, and raise engineering standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align ML work with revenue goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 4+ years of industry experience in ML or data-driven systems.
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience with data pipelines and large datasets using Spark, SQL, or similar.
• Familiarity with software engineering fundamentals including version control and testing.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable ML infrastructure and pipelines for batch and real-time advertising workflows.
• Operationalize ML models and integrate them with ad delivery, ranking, and campaigns.
• Build and maintain reliable data pipelines for large-scale impressions, clicks, and conversions.
• Collaborate with ads product, engineering, analytics, and business teams to align ML solutions with goals.
• Enable low-latency inference and real-time decisioning across brands and surfaces.
• Develop reusable components, APIs, and orchestration for experiments and deployment.
• Monitor reliability, performance, and engage in continuous optimization.
