Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer III to join our Advertising Technology team. You will design scalable ML pipelines for pricing, ranking, and trust across our ad platform and work with cross-functional partners to deploy models in production.

The role emphasizes ML infrastructure, MLOps practices, and collaboration with software engineering, data science, and product teams to drive measurable impact at scale.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS, Engineering, Data Science or related quantitative field.
• 4+ years of industry experience with machine learning or data-driven systems.
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Solid ML fundamentals: supervised learning, feature engineering, model evaluation, bias/variance.
• Experience with data pipelines and large datasets using Spark/SQL.
• Familiarity with software engineering basics: version control, testing, system design.
• Strong collaboration and communication of technical concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable batch and real-time ML pipelines for advertising delivery and optimization.
• Operationalize ML models and integrate with ad delivery, bidding, ranking, and campaigns.
• Build and maintain reliable data pipelines for large-scale ad impressions, clicks, conversions.
• Collaborate with ads product, engineering, analytics, and business teams to align ML solutions with goals.
• Enable low-latency inference and real-time decisioning for multi-brand surfaces.
• Develop reusable components, APIs, and orchestration workflows for experimentation and deployment.
• Monitor, diagnose, and optimize ML-powered ad systems for reliability and performance.
